After a lot of rewatching and even more debating a list has finally been formed! As always, we’re really looking at how Summer’s batch of anime leans on commendable construction and good use of base storytelling mechanics to propel itself. Entertainment value is, of course, a factor too.

The Summer anime season will soon be upon us so I’ve been digging into everything from threads to videos for the last week in preparation. Here’s a rundown of some of the bigger takeaways from that experience!
