Clarity from a comfy couch
“At last, middle aged men can return to watching small female children without fear of being arrested” ~~ This short blog on Cardcaptor Sakura. Seasonal Prattle may have chuckled a little more than we should have at that part.
MARCH COMES IN LIKE A LION SECOND SEASON
It can’t be stated enough how well March articulates the difficulty of being bullied and having anxiety in episode 12. Our character writing here rarely comes up as shallow, with Hina’s feelings being greatly elevated by Shaft’s sharp management and situational awareness. The fallout is even better, emotionally rewarding in its own right, but also cared for enough where no corners were cut. This is a very confident effort that manages to stick the landing:
KARAKAI JOUZU NO TAKAGI-SAN
This was a welcomed showing from a studio that has a lot to prove after last season’s Youkai Apartment no Yuuga na Nichijou. Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san isn’t too emotionally engaging, or dramatically rousing, rather it rides on pure charm and solid dynamics between its leads. With the level of chemistry Takagi and Nishikata are already displaying, that should be more than enough to at least glide this into a very satisfying piece for its genre even if people end up mixed on it:
First Impressions – Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san
When you’re riding primarily on intrigue rather than sound storytelling fundamentals you end up playing with fire. Kokkoku has plenty of tools to possibly be effective – from its diverse cast to its supernatural touches – however its execution of those tools just may end up burning viewers. Geno Studio’s choices aren’t exactly inspiring with their poor use of CG and Yoshimitsu Oohashi last role directing was Amnesia which speaks for itself. It will be interesting to see how this one ultimately unfolds:
KOKKOKU EPISODE 1- IT’S SOMETHING
What to say when you see a positive Black Clover article…
“Is this real life?” Why yes dear reader, it is. It really goes without saying at this point, but Black Clover pretty much gets trashed with each piece of content that comes out on it – regardless if it’s written or video. And while we’re not personally a fan of the show, it’s nice to see a change from the norm with some positive content on it .
What to say when your friend is in deep denial…
“You can’t fool me!”
